1:87 East Rail Line First-generation Electrified Train – First Class

The new 1:87 model is a replica of the first class compartment of the East Rail Line first-generation electrified train (also known as “Yellow Head”). A life size compartment from an old “Yellow Head” displaying at Station Rail Voyage at Hung Hom Station.

Train body, roof, logo and seating configuration follow the real-life details. Rare photos of “Yellow Head” are featured in the advertisements above the seats.

MTR Mini Diecast Diesel-electric Locomotive

The first non-passenger train in “MTR x Tiny” mini diecast train series ― Diesel-electric Locomotive G16. Locomotive No. 56, “I. B. Trevor”, was named after Ivan Bernard Trevor, C.B.E., M.C., the first post-war General Manager of the KCRC.

Mid-Life Refurbishment Train (MLR)

With the opening of the cross-harbour section of the East Rail Line, the Mid-Life Refurbishment (MLR) train, nicknamed “Fly Head”, retired on 6 May 2022 after 40 years of service.

The special edition 1:87 train model is a representation of the last MLR train in service, with Sha Tin as the destination. Just like the real train that bade farewell to the public, the model train features “thank you” stickers on both the cab as well as the windows and doors to recreate the final and historical moment of the MLR train. The model also captures the details from the exterior to the roof structure and the interior including the seats, handrails and straphangers. Each model comes with a uniquely numbered certificate, making it a coveted collectible.
