New Version of the Kowloon Canton Railway Through Train (Ktt) Mini Diecast Model

As the final three pieces of this collectible series, we are proud to introduce the Swiss‑built TLS002 locomotive, the Ktt logo's premium class and the MTR logo's first class double‑deck coaches, which currently preserved at Ho Tung Lau Depot. Each of these new releases comes with unique accessories, allowing enthusiasts not only to recreate the iconic "two locomotives + ten double‑deck coaches" formation from Ktt's final years of service, but also to customize their own preferred configurations or replicate different historical setups.

🛤️ Ktt Locomotive No. TLS002 (Reference Code: MTR23)

The TLS002 Locomotive, features subtle differences compared to the TLN001 Locomotive on display at "Station Rail Voyage: Explorer". Most notably, one side of the red-head driving compartment is fitted with an additional ventilation panel.

On the diecast model TLS002, the red‑head end is factory equipped with taillights, enabling it to serve as the rear locomotive in a formation. With the included stickers, collectors can easily convert them back into headlights, to become the leading locomotive.

Before retirement, the TLS002 underwent upgrades to its lighting system, with the lamp frames changed to blue. This detail can also be recreated on the model by using the stickers.

In normal operations, the leading locomotive typically raised the rear pantograph, while the trailing locomotive raised the pantograph closest to the end of the train. By owning both TLN001 and TLS002 diecast locomotives, collectors can install two lowered pantograph components on the same unit, replicating the locomotive in pantographs down condition.

🛤️ Ktt double-deck coaches - Ktt logo's premium class and the MTR logo's first class coaches (Reference Code: MTR21 & 22)

In Ktt actual service, usually operated with 7–10 coaches, each carrying unique car numbers and external display numbers. The new Ktt coach models come with additional stickers for car numbers, display numbers and window covers, enabling collectors to recreate different coach identities and even the modified luggage cars.

The yellow‑trimmed premium class coaches existed in only two units in reality, and they were typically deployed together as the 4th and 5th cars in the formation.

Both new double‑deck coaches also include extra gangway accessories for coupling with other cars. When positioned next to a locomotive, an end cover plate is required, which is also provided.

Let's form my own Train! Coupled with two locomotives and ten coaches, a complete formation stretching over 250 cm in length. Truly spectacular!

The Ktt mini diecast models are produced in 1:120 TT scale, with flanged wheels that allow them to be displayed on tracks of the same scale. (Tracks shown are for demonstration only and not included)

After reading this, don't you feel like forming your own train at home right away?

The three new Ktt diecast models are now available at MTR e‑Store (online store, physical store at Admiralty Station and West Kowloon Station) and "Station Rail Voyage: Explorer" Exhibition venue at Hung Hom Station.
