In coming September, the Light Rail will have served the passengers in the Northwest New Territories for 35 solid years. The latest Light Rail Vehicle (LRV) – the Phase 5 LRV – commenced service in November 2020. Compared to its predecessor, it has an improved LED lighting system for enhanced ambience and modified handrail and straphanger arrangements to create an even more passenger-friendly experience.
The train model is created to capture the unique features of the real-life Tuen Ma Line train, from the train body and roof structure to the interior including seating, the dynamic route map above the doors and branched handrails.
Destination shows as Wu Kai Sha Station. It even has cab doors that can be opened and closed manually. What’s more, a numbered certificate of authenticity is included with each model to make it a true collectible.
4 new trains are introduced to the well-received “MTR x Tiny” mini diecast trains series recently. They are the Urban Line train which commenced its service last year, the East Rail Line train that connects Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and New Territories, Tung Chung Line Korean-made train which runs between city and Lantau Island and retired diesel-electric locomotive “I. B. Trevor”.
