Description

In the late 1990s, the locomotives were repainted again, this time in the corporate colour of red and blue, which remained even after the MTR-KCR merger. In February 2021, following the launch of the East Rail Line’s new signalling system, all G16 locomotives were decommissioned. Number 56, which has been refurbished and restored, is now on display at the “Station Rail Voyage” exhibition in Hung Hom Station.

The 1:87 scale model is a replica of G16 Locomotive No. 56. Historical data have been referred to in defining the details. Just like their real-life counterparts, the model appearance including the company logos and structures refers to the locomotive from post-merger to its retirement. As collectible items, the models each come with a unique number* stamped on a metal plate.
