The model is based on the KCRC bus served in the Northwest New Territories.

•As the predecessor of MTR Bus, the KCRC Bus provided feeder and auxiliary bus services for the Light Rail network in the early phase, and was later extended to provide feeder bus services for the heavy rail network

•The first and major bus used in the KCRC Bus fleet was MCW Metrobus, which provides the design blueprint for the three new 1:76 model buses

•No more MCW Metrobuses are in use in Hong Kong. In fact, two-axle and non-air-conditioned buses now belong to the city’s bygones

•The livery and the KCR logo on the buses had undergone changes throughout the history of KCR Bus, which are reflected by the collectible 1:76 model buses
