MTR N Scale M Train Model - Unboxing Tips

We believe many of you have already received your MTR N Scale M Train model. Congratulations!

With its refined details and intricate design, we recommend that both beginners and seasoned enthusiasts review the product features and operating instructions before getting started. You can do so by scanning the QR code in the instruction manual. This will help you enjoy your M Train model more easily and with greater confidence.

We have also put together a few important operating tips to keep in mind before running your M Train model:

Basic Set — Tips for First‑Time Use

For those using the M Train Basic Set, before connecting the Controller and placing the train on the track, please first confirm that the Direction Selector Switch is set to the neutral position and the Speed Control Dial is set to STOP (as shown in the image above). This helps prevent the train from moving unexpectedly during setup.

The Basic Set uses TOMIX's N scale track system. The power cable can be connected to either straight or curved track sections, allowing you to create different track layouts to suit various scenes.

Finally, you can use the yellow relayler included in the set when placing your model train onto the track. It makes the process quicker and easier.

If you have purchased both the Basic Set (3-car set) and the Extended Set (5-car set), you will need to replace the gangway parts and coupler on the pantograph-free side of Car C161 (the powered intermediate car) from the Basic Set before coupling it with the cars from the Extended Set.

Be gentle when removing and installing parts to avoid damaging the model.

(For detailed installation instructions, please refer to the instruction manual)

The front and rear cars are each equipped with a Restricted Manual (RM) Mode switch and RM light flashing switch, which can be used as needed.

(See the images above for the switch and RM light positions.)

The pantograph can be manually raised or lowered as needed. Please handle it gently to avoid damage. To recreate real train scenarios, you may slightly raise the pantograph for depot or outdoor running scenes and lower it for tunnel or underground station scenes.

The cars are designed with space for adding interior lighting. You can purchase suitable interior lighting products available on the market to enhance your M Train model. You may also add crew and passenger figures to make your railway scene even more lively and realistic.

Thank you for your support of the MTR Pro-Series. Let's get our M Trains rolling this summer!
