Having served the community for 40 years, the Mid-Life Refurbishment (MLR) train “Fly Head” bade us farewell and went into retirement on 6 May 2022. Each MLR train had operated over 6 million car-kilometres, the equivalent of about 150 trips around the Earth.

The MLR train had not only witnessed historical moments like the merger of MTR Corporation and Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC), but also carried precious memories, great and small, of the people of Hong Kong.

A charity sale of a limited quota of 380 straphangers from the retired MLR trains. By buying a straphanger, rail fans can bring a part of “Fly Head” home and make a charitable donation at the same time. MTR will donate the net proceeds from the sale all going to “The Green Earth” to support good causes*.

*Only MTR e-Store order confirmation email (non-tax-deductible) will be issued for the purchases of straphangers from MLR train

Each user can purchase up to two pieces of straphangers per order. A limited quota of 380 straphangers will be available on a first-come, first-served basis while stocks last.

**Remarks**

• Straphangers come from retired MLR train T23, T24 or T27. Straphangers are distributed randomly and cannot be chosen.

• Straphangers were cleaned before distribution.

• Straphangers were dismantled from a train and normal wear and tear could be found. No request for change or replacement will be accepted.
